Medieval Key

English, 1250-1450

Iron. Do you hang your keys on a key rack? Here's one that'll stand out. Do you have a cabinet of curiosities? Here's a front shelf candidate. Keys like this were made from the early 13th to the mid-15th centuries -- we've often wondered what the lock mechanism was like! Found during excavations on the Thames, London, 1978, and in a private collection since. Good, aged condition.

2-1/2" long.
