Blackjack

English, 1650-1700

Leather, pewter. OK, there are blackjacks with fancy silver mounts made for the elite -- but of those made for everyday folk, this is as good as you'll ever find. Pewter lip initialed K.I.T. and decorated with lunettes like those found on boxes and coffers. Made of 4-ply, handstitched leather with a footrim nailed and stitched on for strength. Beautiful shape, with small, thick handle on a canted side. Dark, old, well waxed surface. We love it! Excellent original condition.

4-1/2" h, 2-3/4" diam lip, 4" diam bottom.
